This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is full of active and excitable kindergarteners who love learning. Our classroom is where we can all come together in a safe, welcoming environment. Everyone belongs and is welcomed in our four walls. My goal, as an educator, goes beyond just teaching. My goal is also to create a positive, comfortable environment so that ALL students can learn and get their needs met. That is what makes this project so important for my students.

Children learn best when they feel comfortable, and safe, and can make their own choices.

With flexible seating options, my students will be able to do just that! By having the ability to choose where they sit, students can feel comfortable in their learning. Flexible seating also helps to create a calm, quiet work environment. The light covers will also help with the calm vibe of the classroom. The bright, fluorescent lights make it hard to focus and stay on task. They are also very harsh on the eyes.

With these cozy, comfortable additions to our classroom, students will truly feel at home. In our student-led, hands-on environment, flexible seating options and these cozy items will make a huge difference.
