My amazing students make up one of four fourth-grade classrooms in a diverse school of about six hundred students and one of two inclusion rooms. Together, we are part of the largest elementary school in our district.
These incredible fourth graders come to school fully trusting me to provide them with opportunities to grow and succeed.
With working in an inclusion classroom, we have a variety of needs, from low-performing academic to behavioral needs. These students deserve a learning environment that matches their needs, creative lessons that challenge their thinking, and continuous support to prepare them for the future. It is my goal to make sure I have all of these things in place so they can reach their full potential.
My Project
After reading One and Only Ivan with a group of my 4th Graders we instantly fell in love with the characters. It isn't often that you can grab the attention of this many students all at once, so when that happens you just have to keep rolling with it.
Due to their interest in One and Only Ivan, I would like to provide a sequel for this group to read.
Due to their interests, we will be working on integrating some higher-level thinking and stem challenges with this book. Students will create a zoo of their own, set prices, budget a variety of items, which will tie our Financial Literacy, Math, and Reading all together. I can not wait to see what they come up with.
