My Students

I am currently teaching kindergarten and first grade special needs students. My school is located in a disadvantaged community with less funding and almost no supplies in terms of teaching materials for my special needs students.

Although some of my students are behind their reading levels as a result of disabilities, they have the drive, enthusiasm and are willing to learn.

Unfortunately, I do not have the right amount of resources to help them achieve the level of academic strength that I would love for them to attain. I do not have access to the much needed resources to help my students.

Most schools located in poor districts receive little or no funding at all, and as a result, they are unable to meet the needs of the students in terms of the required resources that would help them achieve their academic goals. For this and many more reasons is why I need the Leveled Books Classroom Library for my students.

A classroom that is well equipped with the relevant resources will help students with special needs to capitalize on their strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. These books will help my students to read every day. They can be used in a reading aloud activity, guided reading activity, and group reading activity.

In addition, these books will allow my students to read independently at their own grade level as it will enable them to choose from a variety of books that fit their reading level.

I believe that when students have the tools that support them in the learning process in the classroom, then the possibilities are endless.
