Help me give my students Fairy Tales Problem Solving STEM Kits so that they can incorporate science and technology while they develop their literacy skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My special education students come to school eager to learn every day! 100% of the students at my school receive a free breakfast and lunch daily. Many of them receive food backpacks on Fridays to provide snacks during the weekend. The majority of my kids speak English as their second language. Our school is considered a high poverty school due to their family's low-income levels.
My students have a lot of obstacles to overcome, but they are determined to succeed!
I wouldn't trade my students or my school for anything else.
My Project
I'm requesting a set of STEM Literacy Kits so that my struggling students can develop their literacy skills while also learning to create, design, and experiment.
These kits will enhance our literacy instruction by providing hands-on exploration while problem-solving.
After reading the classic fairy tales my students will be able to extend their learning by participating in designing and building activities made available through these kits.
The kits offer students many opportunities to design a house that the Big, Bad Wolf cannot blow away, a bridge that keeps the three Billy Goats Gruff safe from the Nasty Troll, and a chair that can withstand Goldilocks's weight!
Kids love fairy tales and creating. This kit will provide many hours of highly engaged learning for many students. The durable easily maintained materials will last for years to ensure that many more students will share these experiences while gaining critical skills needed to be successful.
Thanks for reading about ways you can support my students!
