On the Road to Independence!

My students need materials to create a professional career portfolios to take with them after graduation including sheet protectors, portfolios, and binders.

My Students

Many of the students enrolled into my Pre-vocational Education Course will pursue a career directly after high school. They are taking courses throughout their high school career that will prepare them for the world of work upon graduation.

The students enrolled into my course are in the PACE program at our high school.

They will earn a Certificate of Completion, in lieu of a diploma, due to cognitive, social, and emotional disabilities. Many of my students come from homes that struggle to make ends meet. They arrive to school without practical school materials, such as, pencils and paper. They need all the support available from their school and their community in order to graduate and live an independent successful life. Independent living is a common goal throughout the PACE program at our school. We work together as a team to prepare these young men and women to join the world of work after high school and be successful.

My Project

The portfolios (binders), sheet protectors, and pocket folders are all practical materials I am in need of to help my students create a tangible artifacts to take with them on job interviews, practicums,and internships. We will work on these professional portfolios for two years, so the quality needs to be substantial. This is the first year creating these professional portfolios and the students are already very proud of their work. As we have more and more students enrolling into the PACE programs, I see our resources being depleted. I am asking support from you and our community to help out our students.

Providing these materials for our students will be a huge help is setting up these students for success after high school.

Creating this professional interview portfolio will help these students out tremendously once they are on a job hunt. Without your support, we will lack the staple resources needed to create these portfolios. Not only will your donation help support these students' throughout high school, they will continue to use it and update throughout their life!
