On the Move - Flexible Seating to Help Growing Minds!
My students need flexible seating options. We are requesting stability wobble cushions and bouncy bands for chairs to use while in class.

My Students
Many of our students have A LOT of energy. Being 6th-8th graders, our students find it challenging to contain all of their energy and enthusiasm in their desks all day. They are challenged in each classroom they enter, but many face larger challenges when it comes to controlling their energy in their learning environments.
Recess and gym time help, but what our students need most are flexible seating options to allow for more movement in the classroom to keep their bodies - and minds - active throughout the school day.
My Project
Your donation will make a difference for our students by giving them more options to learn in the environment that suits them the very best. Some students are not able to sit still for extended periods of time and this affects their concentration, behavior, and overall academic achievement. By adding flexible seating options, the students will be able to move while in their seats, doing so in a private way so that they are able to relieve some of their energy and give their best focus in class.
This project will improve their lives for the better by providing them with seating choices and individualized modifications to help each student learn in the way that is the best for them.
We plan to create certain classrooms that use these flexible seating options, based upon student need and population.
We are requesting 12 blue buddy bands, which attach to a student's chair and allow them to bounce and move their feet while maintaining a seated position. The other resource we are requesting is 21 bouncy cushions, which will also provide students with foot movement to relieve some of their energy while allowing them to focus on classroom instruction.
