it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are remarkable young individuals who demonstrate resilience and curiosity in every lesson. Despite the challenges they face, they are passionate about learning and eager to explore the wonders of science. We are currently implementing the new NGSS standards through the new visions curriculum, which includes the latest NYS labs for biology. However, our school lacks a physical lab space, significantly limiting our ability to conduct hands-on experiments and interactive science activities. The mobile lab sink we are requesting will transform our classroom into a dynamic, versatile learning environment. With this portable sink, we can conduct essential lab activities, ensuring that our students engage in hands-on learning experiences crucial for understanding scientific concepts.
The primary goal of this project is to enhance students’ understanding of biological processes through practical experiments, foster a love for science by making learning interactive and fun, and prepare students for higher education and careers in STEM fields by providing real-world lab experience.
My students are special because they embody a unique blend of diversity, resilience, and determination. Many are English Language Learners (ELLs) from various cultural backgrounds, bringing rich perspectives to our classroom. Despite significant socio-economic challenges, they show up every day ready to learn and overcome obstacles.
