On the Geaux with Chromebooks

My Students

I teach at an elementary school in the heart of "Cajun Country" where we encourage students to become active learners and accountable for their academic success. We are a French Immersion school which is also Title 1. Our students come from diverse backgrounds but all share a common goal to make our school go from "good to great." My first graders arrive each year ready to learn how to read and my focus is not just to teach them how to read but to become "readers."

My Project

First graders like to be mobile in the classroom and with Acer Chromebooks they will be able to go anywhere in the classroom and complete math or reading tutorials which will give them the boost they need to improve their individual growth targets.

My students will be able to engage in tutorial programs individually or with a partner and not be limited to where this can take place within the classroom.

Having these Chromebooks in my classroom will give my first graders opportunities to practice math and reading skills . With outdated computers and limited resources for funding new technology, having these Chromebooks will allow more students to have access to these tutorials on a daily basis.
