This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand." This Chinese proverb inspires the classroom community my kindergarteners and I have created this year. Together we have been creating dynamic learning opportunities that are collaborative in nature and student lead.
Thriving in an environment focused on the whole child, students in kindergarten are growing and learning at a rate that is hard to keep up with!
Their creativity, curiosity, and collaborative spirit inspires critical thinking and cooperative learning. Each student contributes to the whole as a partner in the learning process. My students know that they are each others' best teachers and motivators. We love being inspired by one another!
My Project

This document scanner will provide a simple and interactive way for students to do just that! Used in conjunction with a projector that is already a part of our room, the document scanner will provide an expanded view of work in real time.
I can hear the students reading their works of writing while their friends read along on the big screen. I can see students being inspired by the work of their peers. I can hear the suggestions flying helping every students' potential expand.
Not only will the document scanner help students to share their work, I can also foresee many other opportunities in which their learning will be enhanced. I can project read-aloud illustrations to assist with comprehension. We can look closely at the caterpillars we are nurturing during our life-cycle unit. The possibilities are endless! This piece of equipment will magnify learning literally and figuratively!
Creating more opportunities for students to lead the teaching and learning in the classroom will foster their confidence, as well as their skills in communication and critical thinking!
