My Students
"You must learn, you can learn, you will learn..." Students need an opportunity to practice skills so that they may master skills; and the requested materials will allow students to do just that.
My kindergarten students are eager, active, and ambitious five and six-year-old youth.
Most of them enjoy drawing, writing, and being leaders. My school is located in an urban community where there is not a great deal of parental support. Most requests for classroom supply donations are unmet, and we are running low on pencils and do not have a pencil sharpener in our classroom.
My Project
My students need an electric pencil sharpener and pencils. With the materials requested, my students will be able to practice and eventually master reading, writing, and math skills. These materials will also allow my students to gain leadership skills and teach responsibility as students will take turns having the job of sharpening pencils for the class.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom by allowing students to take a more active and accountable role in their learning.
Students will also be provided with an opportunity to practice many of the skills they need in order to be successful in the classroom and beyond.
