Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a wonderful Title I school. My students come from low-income families. The resources that are found at home are limited. The resources that I provide in my classroom are limited. Some of my students where affected by Harvey.

My students are very eager to absorb new information.

They come in asking, "What are we learning today?" My learners love to read and explore the world around them. They are at a key point in their lives where I can make the greatest impact.

My Project

My learners' engagement level will soar in reading if they use Amazon Fire Tablets. They will be able to increase their reading comprehension and fluidity because of the amount of time they will now be engaged with the Amazon Fire Tablets. My learners will be able to read like fourth graders due to the amount of time they will now spend reading. They will also be able to have digital reading books that they find engaging that are easily found on the Amazon Fire Tablets.

My learners will be forever changed.

I need to be able to build fluid readers in order for them to be successful in the 21st century careers that they choose.

Reading is key in order to build in other content areas as well. My students need to be able to read word problems and comprehend what it is stating. The Amazon Fire tablets will be used daily in small group. My students will also be able to use the Amazon Fire Tablets first thing in the morning as they wait for the school day to start.
