Help me give my students center activities that promote early literacy. The matching letter game will be a fun way for them to sound out to spell a word and show their accuracy when they reveal the card.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is where my students begin their educational careers! As Transitional Kinder and Kindergarten students, this will be most of their first experiences in a classroom setting. They will not only learn to read, write, and count. They will start to develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills through facilitated instruction and play.
My class consists of 25 students who come to school eager to learn.
My job is to do whatever it takes to make that happen!
My Project
Students need materials that will not only help them learn to read, but also make it fun for them to do so. These materials facilitate early literacy through tactile and entertaining activities. I will use these activities in small groups of students, to break apart and put together phonemes in words.
Phonemic Awareness and Phonics are vital when it comes to learning to read.
My kids would be able to use these hands on materials to represent the sounds they hear with corresponding letters. These various materials will give them different ways to practice the same skill while keeping them interested.
