This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will help all teachers and students at TCES with an emphasis on K-2 classes. These decodable readers will help build a growing library of phonics based books that will be available to all teachers at my school. In our district, we are moving towards a Science of Reading based approach to teaching young readers how to read.
In order to successfully do this, we are in need of decodable texts for students to practice the essential skills they are learning in class.
These stories, from Pioneer Valley, with colorful pictures will not only help students practice reading, but also promote student engagement.
