This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The first time I brought my own personal iPad into the classroom for my kindergarteners to use at the reading area, I immediately established a captive audience. Since that day, it is no longer my iPad but the students'. But with 24 students, one is not enough.
My 24 kindergarten students do not go home to a lot, nor do they have access to many things that others take for granted.
English is a second language to all but one of my students. Most live in cramped quarters with extended families and or family friends.
My Project
We all know that everyone learns in a different modality. In order for my students to be successful academically in the future, I need to make sure that I've developed a solid foundation. The enrichment tool that I am requesting for my class will allow students another means to learn while having fun!
The Samsung Tablet and stand will allow my students to have access to educational games and reading while being able to use a tool that other students in more affluent communities are utilizing.
When my students go home, they can see and feel how little they have. It is my daily goal for them to feel rich while they are at school. Rich in mind, body, and spirit.
