My Students
The students at my high school are a diverse group of high achieving students from all socioeconomic backgrounds across the entire city. These students have worked extremely hard to gain admittance to this school and continue to work hard all four years but taking challenging classes and continuing to further school goals of equity and inclusivity. The students in AP Environmental Science have demonstrated a great interest in conservation and making important changes to their lives and others. They are dedicated to taking action to help solve today's environmental problems.
My Project
I am requesting a copy of Omnivore's Dilemma for all students who are taking AP Environmental Science. We discuss many of the topics addressed in the book around agriculture, water pollution, air pollution, economics, and politics. The book illustrates how problematic the current lifestyle is of the average American. I hope that reading this book will help my students to see the need for change while understanding the environmental science topics behind modern day agriculture. This book will hopefully inspire them to not only implement change in their own lives, but the lives of others, for the sake of their future.
