My Project
Oftentimes, books from the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s are under appreciated, and are not given the credit they deserve. Luckily, recently, some older young adult (YA) books are receiving the accolades they deserve and are helping students get hooked into reading.
The YA books chosen are ones published in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s that also focus on social justice topics such as poverty and feminism. Although they may see these books on TikTok, they may not realize how these novels discuss social justice topics.
With your donations I will be able to to hook students onto fantastic pieces of literature, and to then discuss the lessons the author is working to teach their readers.
