My Project
Our school is home to 800+ students, and our school library is the only space that every student visits every week. We have kinder - 6th grade students that all utilize the school library. We do story time for the lower grades, and room chats for the higher grades. All students get to have quiet reading time after they make their book selections.
The seating I have chosen will give our students a comfortable place to sit when they are quietly reading in the library.
Engaging in "comfy reading" can provide a welcome respite from the pressures of academics and social life, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being. I have comfy seating for our primary grades, but the intermediate grade students are over the weight capacity and unable to utilize it.
A classroom that prioritizes both academic rigor and student well-being, including access to "comfy reading," can create a more welcoming and supportive learning environment.
