My students need a Dash Robot, Ozobot, and a few Makey makey kits. These items will allow me to teach my K-2 grade students the basics in STEM and coding.

My Students
Being the computer teacher is a great way to gain insight into the individual creative side of my students. The often have questions about applying technology to an idea and how to make it real. I would like to give them that opportunity.
Our population is mostly Caribbean American.
Parents are hard working and want the best for their kids. My students are from Pre-K to fifth grade. The students are smart, funny and very passionate about being creative with technology. They often come up with ideas or solutions to class projects that I wouldn't have imagined. That's their best characteristic.
My Project
I want to expand my Makerspace to the younger grades while creating more options for the current grades to explore their creativity and learning. Lets say a student wants to make music but we don't have a piano. I can use a Makey Makey and teach that student about music and electricity. He can make a piano with bananas for keys with the Makey Makey and learn about objects and their electrical conductivity at the same time. I can use the Dash and Dot Robot to teach my K-2 studetns about the basics of computer programming. The Ozobot is also a great robot for younger students. You can program the Ozobot by drawing different colored lines on a piece of paper. Something as simple as different colored dashes on a piece of paper can teach a child the concept of a command then how to put then in a sequence. My students need a Dash Robot, Ozobot, and a few Makey makey kits. These items will allow me to teach my K-2 grade students the basics in STEM and coding. Maybe they can participate in a few challenges and one or two can become an Infy Maker.
These donations will allow me to convert my school's old library into a makerspace for all my students to use.
We'll be able to combine some basic supplies like cardboard, legos, and popsicle sticks with more modern tools so students can choose any medium to explore their curiosity.
