This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Due to the corona virus pandemic my school was shut down and my students had to transition to a distance learning model. This transition has not been easy for anyone. My special little learners lost the consistency and routines of school and were forced into remote learning. For students and teachers alike, technology is no longer a privilege but has become a necessity.
My Project
I have currently been using a borrowed laptop to create my distance learning lessons. Creating synchronous and asynchronous lessons requires an new model with sufficient memory. A new MacBook laptop will give me the capability to create engaging lessons for my little learners that will support distance learning.
To catch the attention of a student with special needs, like autism or ADHD, my lesson must have sight, sound, movement, and music.
A new updated laptop would provide the features I need to make these lessons for my students. Synchronous lessons require sufficient RAM memory and asynchronous lessons require sufficient storage. Both are limited in the laptop I am borrowing. A new laptop would insure that my students will continue to receive the quality of education they deserve.
