I work in an urban K-5 school. The students are from a disadvantaged socio-economic community in an urban school district. Fairfield is a title one school. I teach all subject content areas for Second grade. The school has an enrollment of 220 plus students. 100% of the students in the school receive free breakfast and free lunch. Our classroom carpet is old and has been cleaned several times but its on its last leg.
I like for the students to sit on the carpet when I am reading to them or during Community Circle.
This is difficult because the carpet is dirty.
I spend various amounts of money during the year but this is a high ticket item that I can't afford alone. I would love to have a new and carpet for my students. They deserve it. Thanks!!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
