This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am the school counselor at OJP. My goal for board game club is to expose our students to the many different types of board games they have never seen or heard of before. Board games allow for crucial social interactions that many students are missing out on in this technological era.. These games I have requested will not only be fun but they will enrich our students and give them an opportunity to add some extra social skills in their toolbox as well as to expose them to critical thinking skills.
OJP is a small school, which gives our students a more family unit experience.
Our students face many challenges at home and in school, but they continue to push through adversity so they can be successful. This will allow them to enjoy being a kid and give them an outlet to build meaningful connections.
