My second graders have so much enthusiasm to learn.

They come from a variety of backgrounds and abilities. They have chosen our charter school to help them succeed. Reading skills have jumped to the top of our goals. Many of my students struggle with reading and need a variety of ways to help them improve reading skills. Good reading skills are so important and will open many doors to promote their love of learning and allow them to succeed in all areas of school.

My Project

My second grade students are ready to explore, learn and inquire about everything around them. Chromebooks in the classroom will allow them to read a variety of topics, genres and increase their fluency and comprehension as they read to themselves or listen to a story read to them.

Using different online programs that we have access to, my students can listen to stories and increase their comprehension and also hear how a fluent reader sounds.

They can work alone or gather in groups and listen together, discuss what they understood, answer questions and follow along with the story to increase vocabulary and word recognition. Using the Chromebooks allows students to have access to a larger library of books and reading than we do in our classroom library
