Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I recently transferred to an elementary school, teaching students (K--5) with intellectual disabilities. My program focuses on teaching basic communication, vocational, and life skills. This school year, I would like to create an environment in which they feel motivated to learn and grow! My students love Dr. Seuss, and I found "Oh, the Places You'll Go" to be a perfect theme for them. Each "pilot" will get to create their space (desk), design their hot air balloon (I will put their picture in the gondola), and "take flight". I plan on using their designed hot air balloon to track their progress, taking them "higher in the air" each time they complete a milestone.
