This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with wonderful Pre-K children in a high need school. The children love to listen to music and dance everyday. They are just learning about rhythm, beats, and how to use simple instruments.
Music is so important because it helps you academically as well as increasing your creativity. Unfortunately, it is not seen with much importance in the school system and therefore music supplies are hard to come by. In order to learn through music, we need a variety of instruments and cds.
Our class needs instruments such as bells, sand blocks, boomwhackers, castanets, and a Quadrilla melody set. We need a microphone to make music with our voices and we need cds to hear a variety a music styles and to expierence how music inspires movement. We also need storage to keep our instruments and cds. These materials will inspire and allow our children to explore and create music.
Your help will ensure that my students are exposed to music and allowed to create it. This will help them learn all subjects better and it will help them develop their creativity. You may just help the next Mozart start their journey to being a great musician!
