Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am transitioning from kindergarten to teaching English language learners in 3rd through 5th grade. The students I will teach are very limited in their ability to speak, read and write English. Despite that huge obstacle, these students are very motivated to learn.
These eager students never let challenges get them down.
They keep an upbeat, can-do attitude despite these trials.
My Project
A document camera and power strip with multiple USB ports will make learning at home more meaningful and enjoyable. These resources will make distance learning a little more like a face-to-face learning model.
I can use the document camera to model hands on math and science activities and display book pages, manipulatives, handwritten notes, and other visual material in lively interactive virtual presentations.
With current distancing guidelines, virtual learning is happening even in classrooms to keep students safely apart. These materials can be used whether I am teaching students at home or in a face-to-face or hybrid model.
