Oh How Our Garden Grows!

Help me give my students the right tools to start their own garden and learn how to grow their own food!

My Project

Here at our school we serve a very diverse community of learners! This project will be aimed at helped 80 5th graders plan, build, and grow their own food.

We are asking for two planter boxes and a few tools to get us started.

Our plan is to use math skills to determine how much soil we will need (area & volume), work together to follow instructions on building the beds, planting our seeds, and growing our own food.

We will also discuss and learn about plant cells, structure, and reproduction as well as inherited traits. Most importantly we will learn a major life skill of learning how to plant, grow, and harvest our own food!

We are super excited about this adventure and can't wait to get started!
