Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hard-working math and science students whose families care a lot about their success. They come from low socio-economic backgrounds, with almost every student qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Over 90 percent are Hispanic, and many of them will be the first person in their family to graduate from college.
My creative, curious kids would greatly benefit from more renewable resources, such as dry erase markers and crayons.
In order to learn more about math, science and the world around us, we are often in need of renewable resources they can use to prepare for high-school level math, chemistry, physics, and biology. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read about my kids, and please let us know if you can help us reach our goals!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing us to incorporate more art and hands-on activities during math and science class. We use dry erase markers to explain our work on whiteboards and the board at the front of the class, to collaborate with our peers, and to show our thinking on challenging problems.
Using white board dry erase markers, pencils, crayons, and other office supplies makes learning math more fun and interactive, and allows our students to complete assignments and keep themselves organized!
We greatly appreciate any dontations you are able to make at this time!
