My Project

As I embark on a new experience in a new district, new school, and even a new grade level that I have never taught before, my primary objective is to build a comfortable, welcoming, and enjoyable atmosphere that students look forward to returning to each day. The clipboards, which are also whiteboards, and the reusable makeup remover pads, which will be used as erasers for the boards, will be utilized on a regular basis for students to collaborate in small groups to complete activities and assignments, as well as being used for whiteboards in whole group participation activities to practice various skills, allowing me to check for understanding. The markers will be used on the giant coloring poster that I ordered. This will offer students a place to escape for brain breaks after working diligently. These breaks will provide opportunities to reduce stress, anxiety, and frustration. With the use of tap lights, I would like to merge visual and audible class management approaches with the use of technology. Tap lights provide students with a clear visual understanding of volume expectations. I will put the lights in a visible area of the classroom to let students know if I expect silence, whispering, inside voices, or group talk volume within the classroom. The self-adhesive pockets will protect personalized labels created by students to identify their workspace. The X-Acto Pencil Sharpener will allow students to be prepared for class with the pencil crew sharpening pencils daily. The dry erase markers will be utilized to communicate instructions and lessons visually on the whiteboard.
