This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Seeing is believing, as they say. My students are committed to writing excellence, and analyzing their many written assignments as a class will do wonders in allowing them to see their progress.
The children come from urban neighborhoods in Southern California with goals and dreams for the future.
They have earned the right to attend a charter school dedicated to their scholastic success. Most of these kids go on to community college, or university.
My Project
The document camera we are asking for will assist these students in their writing development. Essay writing is a core component of the curriculum, and as such, students need ample time to write, and the tools to be able to see their papers edited from a rough draft to a polished piece. The document camera will allow for students to go immediately from brainstorming ideas to working out problem places in many students' writing habits.
Seeing is believing, and for the study of history, not only writing, but images are of the utmost importance.
The document camera will allow students not only to view cartoons and works of art, but also produce their own and share them quickly with their peers. This essential piece of technology will undoubtedly allow for a greater use of resources within the classroom.
