This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are curious and inquisitive seventh and eighth graders at a Title I public school in West Michigan. I see each of them each day for Social Studies, and they are so passionate about learning about the world around them. We work every day to expand our worldview and our understanding of world history so that we can understand how our history impacts our lives today and in the future.
As a first-generation high-school and college graduate, I use stories from my own life and experiences to relate to my scholars.
Our classroom is a peaceful place where we work to meet the needs of every scholar. For many scholars, this means helping ensure that they have all the basic school supplies they need to be successful. Some scholars are not able to provide their own supplies, and we are always ready to help those scholars out and give them what they need. For this reason, I'd like to stock my classroom with basic supplies we use often like pencils and lamination supplies.
