My Project

Every year we begin our first grade PBL with learning about our community. This starts out as learning about our town, community members, and surroundings. As we progress to second semester we extend this to include our entire island community.

This PBL expansion includes our ocean and the animals that live in it.

Included in this project are several books about ocean creatures and habitats, such as coral reefs. Students will have plush models of some of our local sea animals, making them more accessible and tangible. There are also ocean themed name tags, wall stickers and colored paper to get students in the mindset of learning about our island and ocean community.

The shoe holder will help to organize these supplies and keep them nice and tidy for storage in the classroom.
