Help me give my students resources to help them take greater responsibility for their learning and a classroom that is always in shape to welcome them!
This project is all about fun functionality. I am constantly thinking what I can organize better to make classroom procedures more seamless and less "teacher-directed". My students pride themselves on their independence. A student that can successfully manage their classroom has the tools to successfully support their learning.
I want my classroom to empower my students by being easily maneuvered and accessible for them.
Functionality is one of the aspects of a classroom that I think and rethink over and over.
This project features two main subjects. The first is classroom tools. A resource that needs fixing, a pencil that needs sharpened, redecorating, and overall maintenance definitely stays out of the lime light when it comes to running a classroom. However, I cannot tell you how often I find myself without the necessary resources to do those simple tasks. A screwdriver set, wireless glue gun, and magnetic organizers will eliminate maintenance calls, improve mobility during craft time, and decrease the number of times I run back and forth to fetch a resource. More time will be spent on classroom activities and the room will be safer overall.
The other main subject of this project is the TPT gift card and the photo organizer. A resource that I would love to implement in the classroom is a grouping tool that organizes and directs partner and group work in the classroom. Some of the greatest learning moments are when my students, with direction, are allowed time to work with their peers. This resource would help me ensure that group work is evenly assigned and especially enjoyable for the students. I look forward to increased collaboration in the classroom.
