Do you remember your first big adventure? My students are planning their first big adventure for later this spring. We are headed to the Southwest to explore the desert landscape via an overnight river rafting trip.
Many of my students have never left the region.
They are nervously anticipating their first airplane rides and camping experiences. They work hard every week all year on academic classroom-based activities. While meeting the rigorous demands of high school, most of them struggle with challenging home situations and financial hardships. They are looking forward to this trip, helping each other fund raise, studying the region and culture of the Southwest and doing some pre-trip community service.
My Project
This trip will change their lives. It will give them the opportunity to see the world beyond our city limits. They will push their bodies and minds and explore their emotions. They will practice goal setting, team building and communication while on the adventure of a life time.
Please choose to support our students by helping pay for two children's rafting trip.
We will be fundraising as a group in our neighborhood, but we could use the support of people like you.
