I have seen COVID-19 impacts on child development in multiple areas, including social skills, motor skills, visual perceptual skills, and life skills. For instance, children are struggling more with taking turns, sharing, and following multi-step directions. They were not in class to learn how to physically interact with manipulatives/write/read, and thus are struggling with eye/hand coordination and strength. I have also seen impacts in the ability to functionally read/write, including pencil grasp. Lastly, life skills such as reading a clock and counting coins/dollars and overall basic life independence skills are lacking since COVID-19.
