Nutrition In Pre-K ~ The Right Way!

My students need nutrition books, costumes, puppets, career figurines, a rolling market, vocabulary cards and more.

My Students

"I want to be a doctor, nurse or chef to keep people healthy!" These are a few of the career choices I would like to introduce my students to and teach them about healthy lifestyles.

The students in my prekindergarten classes are three, four and five year old students that have been screened and found "at risk" for development in either cognitive, language or motor areas.

Forming healthy habits at a young age is imperative to prevent childhood obesity and is setting them on track for a lifetime of wellness.

My Project

These materials will be used by my students individually, in small groups, and in large groups. The children will develop skills in healthy living and caring for their bodies in the dramatic play center while using the Rolling Market, career costumes, puppets, and books on nutrition. We will integrate the colors of the healthy foods with the science viewers and flannel board stories. Children will also develop vocabulary about careers, community workers, and healthy living as they work with the Vocabulary Development Photo Libraries and Community Helpers figurines.

Preschoolers are very impressionable.

By giving my students exposure to healthy living and encouraging them to take care of their bodies, I am empowering them for a lifetime of wellness!
