Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of five- to six-year-olds in an inner-city school. I liken my children to sponges. They come to school with enthusiasm and an eagerness to soak up all of the smarts that I can give to them. Their parents want what is best for them.

Each day, I am entrusted with 35 resilient children.

These children come with open minds and ready for new experiences. I want to give them as much as I possibly can!

My Project

My children are a dynamic group of remote students who enjoy learning and are intrigued by books. They enjoy listening to stories, but most of all...discussions.

These books about health, nutrition, self control and confidence will be enjoyed by children who do not have access to books.

They are learning remotely, and their libraries are closed. When school was in person, I would send them home with books to read. Now, there is nobody for them to get books from.

This project includes books like Gregory, the Terrible Eater, who learns to eat a variety of healthy foods as well as David Shannon books which teach children what not to do. My children will be so grateful for this inspiring literature.
