Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Ensuring quality higher education is one of the most important things we can do for future generations" - Ron Lewis

The majority of my students come from a low socioeconomic status.

They attend a public elementary school in Florida which is a Title I school. Most of them are on free or reduced price lunch. A large population of our students are ESOL 1, so they are non- English or limited English speakers. Although our school is predominately Hispanic, we do have students from many non-Hispanic countries, as well. They come from an impoverished area, where opportunities are limited.

I love helping my students reach their full potential. My students are hardworking, energetic, eager to learn students. They are excited about every new topic I present to them. We learn lessons that go beyond standards - lessons that are useful for growth throughout life. I have never seen such caring and loving students. They are always eager to please their teacher and it seems like pleasing me, in return, makes them happy.

My Project

Having technology in the classroom empowers and develops personalized learning. With mobile devices students will easily collaborate with each other inside the classroom. Technology in the classroom is changing the experience of education. It is changing the way children learn, educators teach and how teachers and students communicate with one another.

Having this laptop in the classroom will provide opportunities for students to be able to work and excel at their own level and pace, personalizing lessons to fit their progress.

This laptop will enable our class to work in small groups for differentiated instruction. Additionally, students will share the lessons on the board allowing students acquire a deeper understanding about challenging math and science concepts through the use of programs like I-ready, ThinkCentral, pearsonsuccessnet, explorelearning, etc.
