Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn. Traditionally, they are given the opportunity to work in small groups and cooperative settings as well as whole group. This year, students will work in groups from a distance. The learners are from low-income households.

They are English language learners, students who receive modifications and accommodations, have dyslexia, and need

special education. They are continuously learning and adapting to these times. Learning has been different, but my students have been positive and eager to learn. They are great citizens and are always making lasting connections with the resources they have available.

My Project

Math is all around us, but sometimes our children fail to see or understand how to make sense of numbers around them.

These math manipulative items will support place value and numeracy learning for my students in a fun interactive way.

Students will work together strategically to help build on their skill set as they help each other learn about numbers. These activities will also aid to challenge their learning with extra practice as it reinforces skills being taught.

I know students will be engaged and want to learn more math.
