This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Preparing students for standardized testing is very challenging. Regardless of individual capabilities, students will be expected to demonstrate mastery of learning standards. With so much at stake, the topic of testing creates a heightened level of frustration. When this occurs, motivating students to learn can be difficult. When the competitors are social media and video games, teachers must continuously find ways to make learning engaging, challenging, and fun-filled. However, I want to help the students to remain focused on pressing forward and celebrating successes. Help me to provide incentives to keep students ecstatic about learning! Not only will these incentives keep them excited, but it will crystalize a sense of grit, achievement, pride, and self-confidence which are essential elements for academic and personal growth.
These gift cards will be used as a part of our 8th-grade incentive plan to reward students who are going the extra mile to prepare and attain academic success.
Incentives are great motivators that will further instill in our students to believe in themselves, strive towards the mark, and achieve their goals.
With these cards, I hope to entice students to earn the incentive for demonstrating mastery of academic skills, behavior, and participating in extended learning and service opportunities. My students are resilient and determined. Students will be proud of themselves and confident that they can repeat and excel beyond the next academic hurdle. Let’s rally around children to let them know that they can win the race.
