My Students

We are one of many located in a large area of underprivileged schools. Because of this, we are extremely blessed to have music in our school and much less the resources needed to provide students with a quality music education. Despite our lack of musical resources provided, my students are incredibly eager to learn and master whatever is placed before them. They seek to assist their peers in achieving success as well. Though I have only been at the school for a short period of time, I love my students and I hope to share my love for music education with them for many years! I strive to provide my students with the quality of music education that I received while growing up. I strongly believe that by my students being able to experience as much as they can in music, on top of their present eagerness to learn, they will soar in several other areas of their lives!

My Project

My students love to play instruments. Because our classroom has a limited supply of instruments, having ukuleles would be incredibly beneficial to their learning and understanding of the different instruments that we have today. Rather than just watching videos regarding the ukulele and other string instruments, my students will each get multiple hands-on experiences in playing them. In addition, my students music reading skills will improve. They will learn to follow a musical score suited for ukulele in the elementary music classroom and they will be able to join their love for singing AND instruments for their parents and peerss to enjoy.
