WOW! Now I see! Is what my students will say when we look at things with a new Digital Microscope. My students take STEM seriously which is difficult without even one microscope. The great thing about this microscope is, we can hook it up to a computer so everyone can see.
My students are in kindergarten though fifth grade in Northern CA.
Some of my students love Science but we have very little equipment. They are learning many things under the STEM umbrella. These lessons include life cycles, building bridges, designing robotics, re-purposing, recycling, inventions, math games. Our school is small, but big on school pride and family involvement. We are a very low-income school.
My Project
My students will first learn what a microscope is and what it does. I often refer to them as America's future scientists, but how can I train them without equipment? With a Motic Digital Microscope my students will be able to explore a microscopic world and make discoveries of their own. Lesson's will include parts and usage, exploring things like a hair shaft, germs, cells and organic samples. Students will be able to increase their ability to ask questions and describe their findings. This microscope will be able to be used individually by students or as a whole class when hooked to a computer. Not only will my students have the opportunity to be real scientists, they will be better prepared for middle school and high school with microscope experience.
In a world of advanced technology, the ability to hook a digital microscope to a computer so we can see beyond the naked eye,we are using small magnifying lenses.
I want my students to be excited about science, with your help they will be saying, WOW, now I see!
