Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have an outstanding school in a large urban area. The teachers here work tirelessly to bring engaging, fun activities to enhance our curriculum. Because of the numerous budget cuts, we have had to seek funding for the "extras" that the kids absolutely love.
Our students rock!
Even though we have over 1,000 elementary students, our school has a "family" feeling to it. The staff is great and works very hard to encourage the students to become successful members of society. Many of the students come from homes where many of their basic needs aren't met. We strive to give them the love and confidence they need to survive. Theirs is a difficult world, but we know that with enough help, love, and guidance; they will have a bright future.
My Project
These headphones will be used in so many ways! First and foremost the headsets will help the students do their best on the standardized tests that require that they speak their answers into the microphone. The students will be able to work on things like Google Presentation, iMovies, Kahn Academy, and online educational games without anyone disturbing them, or them disturbing anyone. It's almost impossible to have 35 computers with their speakers on so that the students can hear what's being said and be able to concentrate on it. This way the students can work at their own pace with me as a facilitator. Additionally, they look really cool; the kids will love that!
