This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students all come from the low economic area but that shouldn't be a reason for showing them all the possibilities the world has to offer. My second-grade students are eager for knowledge and filled with curiosity and desire to learn. They are ready to make things happen by dragging, swiping, and clicking. For the third year in a row, my 2nd graders have been given the opportunity to use iPads in the classroom and at home. Thus, they have shown an eagerness that has sparked their imagination and eagerness that has enhanced different styles of learning. My students consist of English Language Learners, gifted and talented, and special needs. Educational technology has opened a pathway into learning that nurtures their creativity and helps promote high-order thinking and problem-solving skills. The possibilities are endless!
My Project
There is always a need for new and stimulating resources in my classroom. Recently, because of COVID19 and distance learning, Teachers Pay Teachers was one of my 'go to' for distance learning enrichment and core activities. Although students are back in classroom, TPT continues to be a great tool. The activities can be used on Google Classroom, Seesaw, or downloaded. I have found many lessons created by teachers that can supplement almost any subject and lesson. It's a great access to many fun and creative lessons made possible with just a simple click and it's downloaded. Being able to provide my students with activities and resources will help them get to their end of year goal.
