My Students
For the past ten years, I have taught in a variety of classroom environments, each with their own unique rewards and challenges. As an educator, I am constantly looking for ways to improve my teaching style and classroom environment to best help my students find success.
This year I am teaching computer literacy in a ninth grade classroom.
My students are from all around Philadelphia. The ninth grade classes learn basic skills before selecting a professional track for the rest of their high school career. When they graduate, they will either be ready for college or to successfully enter the workforce.
My Project
Recently I had requested a Microsoft Surface Go through DonorsChoose.org to use for professional development and with my students. It turns out, that part of the reason the Microsoft Surface Go is so small and compact is because they didn't add USB ports and other methods of connectivity.
Allow me to use the Microsoft Surface Go in my classroom with the students to get more use out of this powerhouse device.
I am requesting this docking station to further the computing power of the Surface that I received for professional development. The docking station will allow me to not only have a light-weight device for attending conferences, but connecting the Surface to a full-size monitor and keyboard for use with webinars and online professional development opportunities without straining my eyes.
