Novels to Nurture a Love of Reading

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a class set of two different novels to use with my students next school year. Novels are also a great opportunity to teach elements of character, plot, and setting. They can be a tool for developing students Tier 2 vocabulary and comprehension skills as well.

I will use the novels to nurture students love of reading.

I plan to use one novel at the beginning of the school year to launch their interest in reading (Charlotte's Web) and another at the end of the school year which will also support social-emotional learning (Stella Diaz).
