Novel Studies

My Project

My secondary Montessori students are engaging in novel studies to enhance their reading comprehension, critical thinking skills, widen their vocabulary, and understand different perspectives and points of view. Having these sets of classic novels will allow them to explore literature in-class, through discussions, Socratic seminars, book clubs, and analysis.

Novel studies will give students an opportunity to practice their reading stamina, as they will engage in longer and more complex texts.

Having these books along with the study guides and resources available in the classroom will also allow for opportunities in writing, communication and public speaking, and understanding of historical context. The bookmarks will be used as incentives for participation.
