Novel Studies Develop a Love of Reading

My Project

Hello! Our 3rd grade class is requesting a class set of two excellent chapter books in order to begin our novel studies. We are planning to begin our novel studies with Book 1 in the Magic Treehouse Series. I would like to introduce a fantastic, imaginative book such as the Magic Treehouse series to my students in order to hook them for the year. As their ELA teacher, I'd like to get them excited about reading and intrigued by chapter books. After we finish Book 1 in the Magic Treehouse Series, I would like to introduce a classic to my students, Charlotte's Web. This timeless novel will certainly appeal to my students and pull at their heart strings.

My goal is to encourage my students to be lifelong readers.

I believe that by implementing novel studies and providing them with brand new chapter books to add to their home libraries, I will get more "buy-in," and and they will develop genuine interest in reading. Please assist me in providing these amazing books to my young students!
