My Project

Please help me share my love of a good story with my new 5th graders! I have an amazing group of 4th grade readers. All have shown growth in reading this year! I will be teaching 5th grade for the first time, next year. Many of my current 4th graders will be joining me on this 5th grade journey. Please help me challenge my 5th graders with engaging novel study books. I have chosen three of my favorites, whose characters are as diverse as my students: Fish in a Tree, a novel whose main character has dyslexia, and two award winning novels, Holes by Louis Sachar and Esperanza Rising, whose main character shows perseverance overcoming hardships. Please help my 5th graders to engage with and comprehend the text by having a new copy in their hands!
