This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Nourishing Minds: Empowering Sixth Graders with Math," is designed to provide our unique and special sixth-grade students with the resources they need to excel in their math education while also addressing the categories of nutrition education and warmth, care, and hunger. We believe in creating an environment that nurtures not only academic growth but also personal development.

Our sixth-grade students come from diverse backgrounds, and we are truly inspired by their enthusiasm for learning and their resilience.

Many of our students face challenges related to nutrition and hunger, which can affect their ability to focus and learn effectively. We aim to support them in various ways, ensuring they have the tools and resources to thrive both academically and personally.

As far as warmth, care, and hunger support a portion of the grant to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. This may include purchasing providing nutritious snacks for those in need, and ensuring that all students feel cared for and valued. This will help address any hunger-related challenges our students may face and promote a positive, welcoming atmosphere.

Goals for This Project:

Foster Nutritional Awareness: The aim is to foster nutritional awareness among our students, helping them make healthier food choices and understand the importance of good nutrition for overall well-being.

Create a Supportive Classroom Environment: My goal is to create a warm, caring, and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported, irrespective of their personal circumstances.

By supporting my project, you will make a significant impact on our students' education and overall well-being. Your contribution will help us empower our sixth graders with the tools they need to succeed in math while addressing their unique needs related to nutrition, warmth, care, and hunger.
