This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school wellness center serves approximately 175 students who find comfort and support within its walls. Many of our students can't eat before coming to school or go many hours without food once they leave. Having snacks available makes a big difference in their learning because hungry students can't focus or think clearly. When students can grab something to eat, they can pay attention better in class and have more energy throughout the day.
Our goal is simple - make sure no student has to learn while hungry.
We want our wellness center to be a warm, caring place where students know their basic needs matter. Our students are special because they keep trying hard in school despite facing many challenges. They're dealing with all the ups and downs of being teenagers while trying to succeed in their classes.
The snacks we provide aren't just food - they show our students that someone cares about them. Students look forward to visiting our wellness center because they know they can get the fuel they need to power through their busy school days. These snacks will nourish both bodies and minds, helping our students thrive academically.
